All of us have fears!  Some have fears of bugs (I can understand that), fear of talking in front of crowds or fear of evangelism.  We all have fears.  The goal for the NYGO team is to meet those fears head on with faith and trust God for the results of front line ministry.

Early on in our training we discussed our fears and expectations for the trip.  I wanted to document them here for folks to catch a glimpse of what our team is thinking:

EXPECTATIONS- I expect…

• God to use me.
• To understand what our part and what part God plays by the end of the trip.
• To be used to move people one step closer to God than where they are before they meet up with us.
• To have a ton of fun

FEARS-

• That people will ask me questions that I don’t know answers to
• That I won’t be as prepared as I could be in talking with folks on park benches
• I don’t have my comfort zones…this is way out of my comfort zones.
• I have never “closed the deal” before.  In other words, I have shared the gospel with folks but have never been able to ultimately lead someone to Christ (I would like to see God do that through me).
• One of the hardest things I can imagine is to change a conversation to spiritual things
