My friend Jeremy Blount came across this, you can check out his scores here. I was always taught it is easier to go to one extreme or to another than it is to stay at the center of Biblical Tension. I am proud of my Jonathan Edwards score here as well as the father of the reformation, Martin Luther and John Calvin. Students, leaders and parents need Theological understanding even if it is masquerading as something else like “Understanding A God Who is There.” I am not massively big on having to have a Jonathan Edwards type title to my messages like, “The Importance and Advantage of a Thorough Knowledge of Divine Truth.” I think I would much rather say, “Truth or Consequences” or “True Truth” or “Truth or Dare” or “True That” but say the same things that Edwards or Luther or Calvin would have hinted at but not sound so stuffy…ya know what I mean?? That is just the way I roll and that is just the way I think most people are whether they roll that way or not. It is our job not to give cookies to the people we minister but to give the cookies where they can reach them . |

Oh Brian! I am very concerned about your theology, when Karl Barth is higher than John Calvin and Augustine is lower than Schleiermacher we got problems…don’t go taking any blind leaps of existential faith today!!
